(some more ‘Im-Pietas’)
It’s They, not I
that are the ‘sinners’,
the ‘unjust’-
not right in their relationships-
but not me…
“I thank you Lord that I am not like…”
Shut up, be still, you foolish self
who worships idols too-
my Work for God,
my ‘Goodness,’
yes my ‘Faithfulness’-
Oh Yes! // But No, oh No!
No, No,
For I am worshipping
this creature,
‘humbly placed before my God’,- my eye! –
for Him to see
How Wonder-full
How Marvelous
I AM.
What good I do, or sermons give,
what kind advice I proffer,-
Yes, Lord how
brilliant
I AM.
Unjust and mis-aligned,
I’ve strayed, got lost
in the mist of glorious Me.
I too have strayed from creaturehood,
from justice of the purest kind,-
‘walk humbly with your God’:
I am my own Creator, for my Glory. Worship Me, O God !
‘O God, be merciful to….’
