We want the fruits
but will we plant the Tree?
We seek
Compassion,
Justice and
Community-
but have we planted HIM
from whom these things will grow
in their own time, abundantly?
Will we proclaim a Jesus
born in time
who lived in His own place,
was crucified- rejected by
His own,-
yet is the Root from which
all things will grow
because He LIVES?
He has his tent of glory
here
with us
and sets us free of all that
causes death in us,
within our hearts,-
if we will welcome Him
as Number One in us,-
Lord of our lives, Lord of our everything?
Will we who have been given this to do
proclaim His Name
among us, Risen,
LORD-
and call our people
all to come to Him,
to welcome Him to life,-
then trust that, planted,
He will bear great fruit
in us, in them?
We have this task,
but will we tend to it?
